Fall drills, matches and Montana State Open Tourney

Hello players!

I do hope you enjoyed your summer both on and off the tennis court. It’s been great for tennis – not too hot and great tennis to watch as well.

A few quick things I want to share with you. Belgrade Tennis Association’s Tennis Night Live has a few more spots starting September 3, and the Montana State Open is coming up in a few weeks time – if you have never played a tournament before you should give it a go!

Tennis Night Live starts September 3.

Belgrade Tennis Association runs a drill + match session this month starting on September 3. Drills on Tuesday and matches arranged on Thursday. If you’re not playing a fall sport, it’s a great way to get a bit more instruction and match play by just showing up twice each week in September. Check out their website and how to sign up.

Montana State Open Tennis Tournament

September 13-15 is the Montana State Open tennis tournament. This year it’s in Bozeman and will be played on the Bozeman High tennis courts. If you have never done a tournament before, I encourage you to give it a try, as Dave Luebbe who runs the tournament is a great resource and will help you get acclimated to the tourament atmosphere. Not to mention you’ll get at least two guaranteed matches for each event. I play two each year – singles and doubles, so I’ll be there (with “Wayne”, my dad who many have heard much about.) Head over to the USTA tournament page and get registered – let me know if you need help.

Have a great fall, y’all! See you on the courts.
